Stop fighting about money.

Budgie is the budget app for couples. Split bills fairly, settle up in a tap, and sleep on impulse buys before they cost you.

Try the thing Budgie does to every price

Is it worth it?

Type a price and what you take home per hour. Budgie turns the price tag into the hours you worked for it, and the money it would become if you invested it instead.

Seeing a pair of trainers as a full Saturday at work changes the decision more than any budget ever did.

The 7-day cooldown

Want it? Sleep on it.

Most money apps show you the damage after you spent. Budgie steps in before, when the urge is loudest and the decision is still yours.

  1. 1

    Park it

Spotted something you want? Add it to Budgie instead of your basket. It takes about five seconds.

  2. 2

    Let it cool

The item waits for 7 days. Budgie shows what it costs in work-hours while you wait. Your partner can see it too.

  3. 3

    Decide

Still want it? Buy it, guilt-free. Let it go? The money counts as saved and your streak grows.

Questions couples ask

What is Budgie?

Budgie is a budget app for couples. It splits shared bills fairly, keeps a running who-owes-who balance you can settle in one tap, and helps you both skip impulse buys with a 7-day cooldown. Every price is also shown in hours of your work and in what it would grow to if invested.

Is Budgie free?

Yes, Budgie is free to download and use on your own. Couple mode and custom cooldown lengths are part of Budgie Pro, an optional in-app subscription. One Pro plan covers both partners.

Do I need to connect my bank account?

No. Budgie never asks for bank logins. You add the expenses you want to track, so your bank details stay out of it.

Can my partner see my income?

No. Your income or hourly rate stays private to you. Your partner sees shared expenses, splits and settle-ups, which is the point of a shared budget, but never your pay.

How does the 7-day cooldown work?

When you want something, you park it in Budgie instead of buying it. The item waits for 7 days. When the wait is over you decide: still want it, buy it; let it go, and Budgie counts the money as saved.

How is Budgie different from Splitwise?

Splitwise is built for groups splitting costs after they happen. Budgie is built for two people and also works before the purchase: a cooldown for impulse buys, partner approval for big buys, and prices shown in work-hours. It still does the bill splitting and settle-ups couples need.

Can I use Budgie on my own?

Yes. Start solo with the cooldown and the work-hours view, and invite your partner whenever you are ready.

Is Budgie on Android?

Budgie is available on iPhone now. The Android version is coming to Google Play soon.
